Introducing The Beauty Wellness Tea Proust Questionnaire

The Proust Questionnaire is a set of personal questions about values, fears, and goals that was answered by the French writer Marcel Proust. Proust responded to the questions in a “confession album,” a popular Victorian parlor game where friends and family wrote their answers in a decorative book. Proust answered the questionnaire twice in his lifetime and his unique answers were later published, making the game famous. While the questions within a confession album varied, most would answer 20 or more questions. The famous Proust Questionnaire contains 35 questions, free to use, and may be found by simply searching online. We love his answer to this question: My favourite occupation:“Loving.”

Proust was also no stranger to the power of taking a moment to enjoy a nice cup of tea. In Proust’s masterpiece novel, In Search of Lost Time, the narrator unlocks forgotten memories from his childhood after tasting a madeleine cake dipped in tea. Today, in French, the expression madeleine de Proust refers to a specific taste, smell, sound, or sight that transports a person back to memories of their childhood.

Over the years, many outlets have adapted the Proust Questionnaire to present a unique interview opportunity to a range of guests, celebrities, and important people. At Beauty Wellness Tea Connect, we’ve decided to keep the tradition alive and adjust the questionnaire to focus on

“The beauty of life, the wellness we seek, and the tea we drink along the way.”

The Beauty Wellness Tea Proust Questionnaire includes a total of 50 questions surrounding the topics of beauty, wellness, and tea (our guests may choose to answer 15-20). And going along with the original concept, the questionnaire is meant to bring out personal thoughts, feelings, and sometimes confessions!! Scandalous!

Tea questions explore your ideal setting, favorite brewing traditions, and personal relationship with the ritual. Key themes include the perfect cup, the sensory experience, and the mood of the afternoon. Questions in the tea category explore taste and tradition as well as ritual and reflection.
